We have over 50 items that will be up for bid at the Silent Auction on July 21st. I have posted some pictures here, but believe me, my photography does not do these items justice. Guess you'll just have to come and check them out for yourself.
There will be plenty of beer, wine and some yummy food so be sure to come and nosh and browse!  It's all for a very good cause.
Thanks in advance for your support. Directions to Parkside Marina can be found at the bottom of this page.

Glad you decided to stop in and have a look because I want to be sure you know all about an upcoming event that is going to take pace on Saturday, July 21, 2012 and you're invited. Ray and I and my daughter, Stephanie are hosting a Wine and Cheese Party and Silent Auction to raise money for Leulumia Lymphoma Society. It is such a worthy cause and we are all honored to be a part of it.

As you may know I was diagnosed with leukemia in March of 2009 after many months of deteriorating health. I had made many visits to several doctors and no one could figure out what was wrong with me so, by the time I was diagnosed I was in pretty bad shape. What started out as Chronic Myeloid Leukemia advanced to Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia in blast-crises stage. My only hope was that a bone marrow donor could be found.

In the meantime I was prescribed Gleevec, an oral chemotherapy that had only been developed about 8 years prior. The Leukemia Lymphoma Society funded that development. Fortunately, the Gleevec put me into remission so that we were able to search for a suitable donor. In May of 2009, it was discovered that my brother was a 100% match so I was able to have a bone marrow transplant that literally saved my life. Without it I don't think I would be here today, a healthy and happy retiree who relishes every breath I take.

I credit the Leukemia Lymphoma Society for saving my life and the lives of countless others. I will be eternally grateful for all the money they have raised in order to continue the fight against all blood cancers. Even better than that, much of the research and development of medicines and treatments are due in large part to their efforts.  If you know anyone who has ever had cancer, chances are you know someone who has benefitted from the good work done by the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.

So, back to the Celebration on the River event on July 21st. The time is 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. We will be serving wine, beer, sodas and hor d'oeuvres. We will be selling 50/50 raffle tickets and will be holding a silent auction. We have accumulated a bunch of really cool stuff - I think you'll be impressed. Of course, we couldn't have done it without the generousity of our faithful and supportive family and friends.

You are more than welcome to bring your kids - this is a total family affair. We're have a Kids Kraft Korner so the kids will have some fun while you nosh and browse.  Feel free to invite your family and friends - the more the merrier.

All proceeds will go to LLS - the Leukemia Lymphoma Society. If you can't make the party, but would like to donate here is a link that will take you to the LLS Team In Training page so that you can support Stephanie in her third marathon for this worthy cause. She will be running a half marathon this year in the Baltimore Running Festival in October and has pledged $2500. With your help we can do it! http://pages.teamintraining.org/md/balt12/nstephanie.
